On June 21st, The New Pornographers , along with Andrew Bird , Bon Iver, and Cloud Cult , will all perform in front of the Walker Art Center for their Rock The Garden concert. The concert series has been in flux the last four years, with it’s last one being in 2004 when David Byrne and the Tosca Strings played along with Antibalas (then still called Antibalas Afrobeat Orchestra). The previous Rock The Garden lineups include Wilco with The Bad Plus, & Fog in 2003, Medeski, Martin, & Wood in 2002, and Sonic Youth with Stereolab in 2000. This years Rock The Garden is sponsored by 89.3 The Current and vita.mn”

I thought so too. I was hoping for a little more Walker and a little less Mary Lucia. This lineup pales in comparison to years past.

ah yes, but those were 2 seperate shows.
the David Byrne one was great, no doubt. the Sonic Youth & Stereolab one was pretty sweet, but not one of the best sets i’ve see SY do. Medeski, Martin, & Wood was rather boring for the most part though.
actually kind of surprised that the only one i’ve had to miss was the Wilco one, haha.
i still think this lineup is pretty damn good, but i guess if you don’t like those artists…
